9. Address Your Content
Bill Gates wrote an essay in 1996 entitled, “Content is King.”
“Content is where I expect much of the real money will be made on the Internet, just as it was in broadcasting,” he wrote. “No company is too small to participate.”
The issue for most optimization efforts is that the domain begins with excellent content before addressing visitors' structural needs when visiting a website.
World-changing content can’t change the world if no one can access or understand it!
Everything must work together to create the value propositions needed for a rankings boost. Design aspects, responsiveness, mobile optimization, and all of the other steps must be available on the site.
Once you’re ready to create royal content, its structure must receive some consideration.
- Large content blocks are challenging to read for the average person.
- Jargon and expert terms are useless if the visitor doesn’t understand them.
- Dynamic elements use titles, subheadings, and design to emphasize specific sections.
- Bullet points are useful for breaking up specific topics of interest.
When you create content, focus on value first. The days of putting in keyword densities, sentence structures, or term placement are gone.
Your content must answer the questions of the search term provided by the visitor. If you can do that consistently, your rankings will improve.
Finish this process by reviewing your meta descriptions and tags for each page. A small blurb that reinforces your value can encourage a click when your site may not be in the top position.
